Biography
Cyril Poriel was born in Douarnenez (Finistère) in 1976. After a DEA in Molecular Chemistry (2000), he followed a PhD in the Laboratoire de Chimie Organométallique et Biologique (UMR CNRS 6509 - University Rennes I), under the supervision of Dr G. Simonneaux (MENRT scholarship). This work, centred on the sythesis and catalytic properties study of metalloporphyrin polymers was defended in 2003. In January 2004, he joined, for a post-doctoral position, the total synthesis of natural products group of Pr C. J. Moody at the University of Exeter (UK) where he worked on the total synthesis of Diazonamide A (EPSRC scholarship). He then joined the CNRS as a researcher in October 2005 to develop molecular materials for organic electronics applications.
